On January 14, 2020, the Sanguantang bridge in Ningbo, built by Sichuan Road & Bridge Huadong Construction Co., Ltd, completed the welding of the last super-large section of the main bridge's steel structure, marking the bridge's official closure. After nearly four months of hard work, the project department finished the task 45 days ahead of schedule and presented a great gift for the upcoming Chinese New Year.
On the afternoon, the main bridge of Sanguantang Bridge was closed at a ceremony attended by Shen Min, deputy mayor of Ningbo, Yang Rugang, General Manager of SRBG, Nie Dong, deputy chairman of Sichuan Road & Bridge Huadong Construction Co., Ltd, and leaders of Housing and Construction Bureau, Maritime and Port Bureau, Water Conservancy Bureau, Maritime Administration in Ningbo and other relevant ministry.
Sanguantang Bridge and its wiring project are the key construction projects of Ningbo ’s guideline-"strive for excellence between urban and rural areas during three years". It starts from Jiangnan Road in the high-tech zone in the south and Zhongguan West Road in the Zhenhai Zone in the north. The total length of the project is 3.3 kilometers and the total bridge length is 2.2 kilometers. Among them, the main bridge is 785 meters long and the width of standard cross-section is 68 meters. It has two-way 6 lanes, two-way sidewalks with a width of 4 meters and two-way bicycle lanes with a width of 5 meters. The main bridge is a three-span continuous steel girder bridge with a main span of 465 meters, and its span is 160 meters +465 meters +160 meters, ranking the first in the world in the same type of bridge.
